That along with the legends of the MacLeod borthers, coprses on the beach and headless bodies etc. fueled the fire of my plot in The River and defintely gave me the perfect setting. :)

I invite you to check out the first 3 chapters of The River, a fast-paced conspiracy thriller that has been likened to works by James Patterson and Michael Cricton.

One day I hope to see the Nahanni for myself, instead of living vicariously through others. lol

CherylCheryl Tardifhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15160526951596806898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8298308025839349977.post-49317600420216500732007-08-16T23:53:00.000-04:002007-08-16T23:53:00.000-04:00Thanks for your kind comments. John weaves a tale of creative non-fiction and speculates on how murder may have been the fate of two men on the river.

BarryBarryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17293590803285300843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8298308025839349977.post-18691633573559616232007-08-16T18:48:00.000-04:002007-08-16T18:48:00.000-04:00I just love reading your blog posts! Everything yo...I just love reading your blog posts! Everything you are describing is something I want to see--one day. The strange thing is I have researched the Nahanni River so well that I can picture it quite clearly.

And when you return from your trip, you may want to pick up my 2005 thriller The River. It is set on the Nahanni River and everything you've described and mentioned in you last few posts are in this novel. Of course it's fiction...but...

lol I'll let you decide where fact leaves off.

The River is the story of Del Hawthorne, an anthropology professor at UBC, whose father went missing on the Nahanni seven years earlier. He was eventually presumed dead. But something happens to make Del believe that he may not be dead after all.

Del and a group of near strangers set off for the wilds of the Nahanni and encounter a deadly conspiracy of nanobots, painful youth serums and a conspiracy that threatens mankind.

I hope you'll check it out. I know you will picture the trip down the Nahanni. :)

Cheryl Kaye Tardif
author of The River, Divine Intervention and Whale SongCheryl Tardifhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15160526951596806898noreply@blogger.com
